We believe good design shouldn’t cost the earth…literally. That’s why we favour quality over quantity, longevity over landfill and beautiful pieces that tread lightly on the planet.
Sustainability
At Curated for KIN, we believe beautiful design should go hand in hand with thoughtful choices and that includes caring for the environment we call home.
We live and work in Victoria’s stunning High Country, a region known for its natural beauty, crisp alpine air and wide-open skies. It’s a place we cherish and enjoy every day, so it makes sense that we’d want to protect it too. That’s why we approach every project with a light footprint and a long-term mindset.
Our furniture collections are curated with longevity in mind. Each piece is chosen for its quality, longevity and how well it stands up to real life (think kids, guests and pets). We look for eco-conscious materials, like FSC-certified timber products, natural fabrics and recyclable elements, whenever possible and we favour suppliers with sustainable manufacturing practices.
We believe great design should tread lightly. That’s why recycling is part of our process, from reusing packaging to giving quality pre-loved pieces a second life.
We’ve proudly partnered with the Thamarrurr Foundation to ensure your outgoing furniture doesn’t go to waste. Instead, it’s redistributed to First Nations communities in Wadeye, Northern Territory, where it’s truly appreciated.
We’ll also take care of any leftover packaging and materials, sorting and recycling them locally, so you don’t have to lift a finger.
When it comes to lighting and appliances, we prioritise energy efficiency, integrating LED lighting, smart technology and low-energy appliances that enhance both comfort and functionality, while reducing environmental impact.
Wherever we can, we source Australian-made and locally produced items, supporting nearby makers and reducing freight kilometres along the way.
Could we do more? Probably…and we are certainly working on it every day. We aim to strike a practical balance between sustainability, availability and affordability so that great design is not only conscious, but also achievable.
For us, sustainability is less about trends and more about timelessness. It's about helping you create a home that feels good to live in, and good to feel good about.
